What a pleasant surprise to find this website.
Mij father was Cornelis Anthonius Buijs son of Romualdus Arnoldus Buijs, son of Leonardus Buijs who married Antoinetta Henrika Delwarel.....
I am an only child and have, from childhood on, very little contact with relatives. I was born in Dirksland, Goeree Overflakkee and have one daughter Kimberly (a good Dutch name isn't it!). Especially for her it would be nice to know more about her forefathers. I remember, my father told me, that my grandfather Romualdus received a letter from the USA with the question to send some sons. Only years later my father heard about this letter which Romualdus never gave to his sons. He didn't want to loose them for the work on the farm. Mij father definitely would have emigrated to america. He died in 1986. It would be interesting to know more about the american Buijs relatives.

Comments: I was born to John Willie and Annie Lucille Jacobs at Cape-Coast, Ghana, West Africa on April 1st, 1950. My parents have passed away, but was told my great-grandparents originated from Netherlands. My great grand-parents arrived in a coastal town called Elmina at then Gold Coast. They built fort and Castles during 1600 and transacted slave trade. My great grandfather had a child with great-grandmother who originated from Elmina and that brought my grandfather. I migrated to London, England and finally United States. I am married, my wife is Elizabeth, and we have four children. Eileen, Colleen, Noreen and Willis.
